A Brand New Day

Emme is a month old now and still growing. She has already started packing on the baby fat. I just hope she keeps her hair. Her eyes are blue and we'll see what color her hair will be. The boys sure think she is cute and Liam just wants to maul her all the time. They sure love her, though. Callahan is really good with the little brothers, mainly Liam, and is every bit the older brother. He is in first grade now and loves to go to school and do homework, hopefully that lasts. Abram is in his second year of pre-school and is getting close to being able to read. Liam just gets cuter every day and even though he's not talking he understands everything, almost too well. Both Callahan and Abram are playing soccer and having lots of fun scoring goals. Brian got to take the boys fishing last week, which was really fun. Getting to go with their Grandpas, too made it even more special. Papa bear went with Brian and Callahan, and Grandpa Bruce and Ben joined Abram and Brian the next day. I think Callahan had the most fun, though, because Abram about jumped out of the boat when Grandpa caught a fish. He was just a little timid of being in an 18' canoe, surrounded by water, with squirming fish flopping around him. Surprisingly, Abram didn't catch any fish. I think he'd much rather go on a four-wheeler ride. It was a fun trip, though. The past month has been a time for adjusting, but we're all glad that Emme is finally here and can't wait to see what comes next.
